U.S. Alarm Platform Directory → Serviceability and Parts
Proprietary Does Not Automatically Mean Unserviceable
Separate four questions: which components are vendor-specific, who can obtain programming tools, which companies can service the installation, and whether the required replacement part is currently obtainable. A published API may improve integration while the underlying panel, radio, software, or cloud service remains proprietary.
Documented Restrictions and Lifecycle Flags
NOTIFIER: VeriFire online functions require an active license. North American access involves technician/account requirements. This limits who can perform some programming work; it does not prove that parts are scarce. Manufacturer licensing reference.
Gamewell-FCI: CAMWorks license holders must maintain factory certification. Confirm the proposed service company’s current tool and training access. Certification requirements.
DMP: the manufacturer states that its technology is available through authorized dealers. Ask for an alternate qualified dealer and a documented account-transfer path. DMP dealer-channel statement.
Edwards EST3 — documented end of life: Edwards identifies EST3 as being at the end of its lifecycle and recommends migration to EST4. Treat future controller and specialist-module replacement as a planning risk. The notice does not establish that every part is unavailable today. Obtain part-specific supply and supported migration confirmation. Official EST3 lifecycle notice.
Fire-Lite MS-9050UD — documented discontinued model: the manufacturer’s software page marks this model discontinued. Available documentation does not establish new production or live spare inventory. Official model status.
Mircom replacement firmware: the manufacturer instructs service teams to match replacement-component software to the installed system. A physically matching module alone may be insufficient. Replacement compatibility guidance.
Parts and Service Questions to Put in Writing
Ask for the exact part number, hardware revision, compatible firmware, current production status, authorized supply source, expected lead time, warranty route, and approved substitute. For a critical component, ask whether a spare can be held locally and who can configure it.
Require a current configuration backup, ownership of administrator accounts, a documented release/transfer process, and names of qualified alternate service companies. Establish which licenses, cloud services, certificates, or subscriptions must stay active.
Older and Rebranded Installations
An existing label such as GE/Interlogix, an older DSC PowerSeries model, or a historical fire-panel name is a starting point for identification, not proof of present availability. Record the exact panel and installed modules, then obtain a manufacturer or successor statement. Do not classify a whole brand as unsupported from a single obsolete part.
How to Read This Directory
“Manufacturer documentation available” means a product or capability reference was found. It does not promise stock, authorized local service, or suitability for your building. “Requires confirmation” marks an unresolved model, geographic, or integration detail. Life-safety compatibility and permitted control functions require the approved system design and responsible qualified parties.
Use the buyer’s guide to compare the service commitment. Ask NERSA to review your equipment inventory and proposed transition. Submit a documented correction. Return to thedirectory parent.
